More to the point, I am interested in the original question and think it is a great one. I, for one, have bored of the High Llamas endless two chord vamp. What I like about Gideon Gaye is the high song to vamp ratio. There are some of those interminable vamps (what I like to refer to as "the goats") but there are some great melodies, lyrics and well... songs. But the more High Llamas I bought, the further away they seemed from what I liked about Gideon Gaye, although the critical praise kept growning. So back to the original question. Has anyone heard this record and can you compare and contrast to Gideon Gaye, critical praise notwithstanding?

Frank.
