Part of the thing I have a problem with the musical culture in this country
are the people/kids buying both Christina *AND* the White Stripes without
knowing
the difference. And I absolutely agree with Mike that most of the promo $$
dumped into these acts happened after the "hype" factor...when the major
label
backing came into play. I think this whole discussion really boils down to
what's been the case for decades...and that is *most* (not all) of
commercial/mainstream rock is really not that palatable to real music
afficinados. It never really has been...and probably never will be. So, I
guess I can stop worrying about the White
Stripes now...
