Hey,

I went to the Bottom Line in NYC last night to see the "Pure Pop for Now People" show in their "Beat Goes On" series. The series is basically a rotating line-up of singers and musicians doing covers.

But for this show, all pop. Great selection of artists/songs: Big Star, Replacements, Squeeze, Raspberries, Crowded House, Badfinger, Beatles, Marshall Crenshaw, etc. Some excellent performances, though a sparsley attended show. Too bad. Are there any Auditeers in NYC who caught the show?

(I was miffed, however, by the fact that my drinks were obviously watered down. I've been drinking martinis for years, and I know what a martini straight up should taste like. Apparently, the Bottom Line is having major money troubles at present, but that's no excuse.)

Nonetheless, it was a fun night listening to one pop gem after another. Kudos to the organizers for a righteous selection of tunes.
