Mike Nicholson promised bigger & better for this year's fest & he surely
delivered.
good size crowds of locals to hear the Friday & Saturday headliners...
despite the lead singer's "feeling like crap" and spotty vocals at times
because of that (croup? chicken pox?) the Connells show was pretty cool ...
Larry Tucker looked at me and said "Quite a trip down memory lane" as they
played and I wholeheartedly agree ... the first couple of songs they seemed
a bit timid but then they hit their stride and rolled along nicely for their
too short set...
The Shazam was ready to rock all night as is usual at Sparklefest for them
... they crammed all the rock they could in to their too short set ... they
hung around after their set and led the crowd in down front rocking out for
the fantastic sets by The Mockers & Barely Pink ... lots of head banging
going on :)
anyone smart enough to stay late on Friday & Saturday witnessed the true
spirit of RnR .. especially In-Line Six .. you know its gonna be great but
your not sure what you are gonna get ... Mike thought they weren't gonna
make it there at all - I'm so glad they did because their set was THE rock
highlight of the weekend..
great variety & talent - all 3 nites the bands were great ... not a stinker
in the bunch!
