Well, as an admitted "dumb fool" when it comes to even the basics of
recording, I for one am enjoying this technical thread and learning a lot
from it (even though I'm not able to follow all of it).

I've just started dabbling in recording on my PC, but I don't really have
a clue what I'm doing.  Can anybody recommend a good instructional
website covering the basics of DAW recording?  I mean aside from
operating the particular software itself.  Like what equipment is needed
/ desired, mic and preamp options, what levels to record at, etc.  Basic
stuff.
