My turn to chime in about Sparklefest.
My trip was a total blast!!!!!!
I got stuck in the rain in a conferderate veterans cemetary. Someone told me
how to prepare squirrel. I ate way too much fried food plus I had 3 intense
nights (7-8 hours) and 1 afternoon of pop.
This festival had a really good vibe. It was fun seeing all everyone I
haven't seen in awhile, Cliff, Beth, Sherman, Rene, Ed James, Bobby
Sutliff, Seth, Jeremy, Todd, Tony. I enjoyed meeting more new pop fans,
Donna Sue, Ed, Gretchen, Lauree, John M, Mike N and his wife Anna.
It was fun discovering new bands. I was really impressed with the Boss
Martians, International Orange, In-Line Six, Milkshake Jones, Frosted Sugar
Bombs, Jeff Hart & the Ruins, The Breaks, ah hell I was impressed with the
whole festival.
During the Mockers set, they were filming a documentary to be aired in
Spain. So chances are Donna Sue, Gretchen and I were caught dancing away.
I picked up a bunch of cd's. I just can't stay away from that merch table
:-). Picked up Walter Clevenger and Barely Pink's new one. Walter's cd is
outstanding. I also picked up a couple older Spongetones cd's, Beat and
Torn and Oh Yeah. Listened to Beat and Torn ...... wow! wished I would
picked that one up long ago. Also the Sparklefest cd is a really cool comp.
Lots of good songs.
A big thank you to Mike and crew for all the hard work to make this festival
a success!
Cathy
-when I got home from my trip I had 2 new cd's in my mailbox :-) The new
one by Kelly's Heels and John Hoskinson's Crappy Demos 2. I am happy pop
girl!
