I hardly play live any more and expect it will be even less in the future.
I'm just getting too damned old to leave the family and rock I reckon.
Still, this year's Sparklefest was way too much fun! I finally met one of my
heroes - Jamie Hoover and that made the trip worthwile, not that it needed a
reason. Mike Nicholson puts on a hell of a festival. While not as pluperfect
as a typical IPO show, the rough edges may just make it even a tiny bit more
fun.
It's so much fun to hang out with like-minded folks and that is even better
than performing. As for my show, it was a bit out of tune and way under
rehearsed but it was still fab. The merchandise table sold out of my cds and
I'm pretty sure that's never happened before. I got to play my 1960 Les Paul
Junior which forced me to evoke the ghost of Paul Kossoff (not that I need
much prodding in that direction) and all was well.
Thanks Mike N. and company!!
