I saw the tour twice. I think your friend misconstrued the stage patter.
Lindsey talked about getting his head together after he left the BAND when
he introduced "Say Goodbye."
There is a lot of good natured affection between the two-- contrived based
on how it was identical in the two shows I saw-- but this probably reflects
how they've made peace with each other, not that they're together.
