Wow! What a great line!
I haven't jumped into the music downloading fray to any extent. At 56K (most
often it's 49.2K), I literally don't have the time to do anything but listen
to samples and so I don't think sampling then downloading would be much
different for me.
I know there are several new business models for legally purchasing
downloaded music. E-music seems to be album-based, while I-tunes seems to be
singles based. Is that an oversimplification? Are there other services that
allow whole album downloads? Are there services that allow you to purchase
whole downloadable albums with a subscription? And finally, are any smaller
labels toying with selling downloadable albums straight from their sites? Is
the bandwidth too expensive? Perhaps one of you knows of a good recent
"guide to online music" or perhaps one of the journos around here is working
on one?
