There was a song that was released in Rhino's early
years called "I'm In Love With Your Mom". At the
moment I'm a blank as to who did it. It was a kind of
mid tempo song and was more punk than new wave at the
time due to the vocals more than anything else. It
got some airplay out here (short lived due to the
lyric - "I'm in love with your mom. I've got a lump
in my pants for her."). I remember it came out during
the same time frame as "Night Fever" by The Heebie
Geebies (a fun version of The Bee Gees classic hit)
and "Counting" by The Motels.
Although the words may have been questionable at the
time and the vocals tough to take for most - it was
still a catchy song much in the same way that "Stacy's
Mom" from Fountains Of Wayne is 25 years later.
By the way, this Saturday, Cy Curnin from The Fixx
will be a guest on my radio program. The band came
out with a new album last week. If your a fan and

The public radio broadcast can be heard on the east
coast from 8PM to 11PM tomorrow and on the west coast
from 5PM to 8PM. I'll probably ask Cy Curnin about
some of the bands earlier material just so I play
songs like "Secret Separation" and "One Thing Leads To
Another".
