Sadly, I am right there with Bruce on evaluation of
the new Strokes rekkid. I too was a huge fan of the
first album - I got it and Wilco's 'Yankee Hotel
Foxtrot' right around the same time, and, between the
two, felt my faith in music had been restored. I got
the new one in the other day, though, and was
extremely disappointed - this sounds like a collection
of outtakes from 'Is This It?' None of the songs are
memorable. I kept waiting to be caught
by...something! Anything! But, sadly, I was not.
Certainly, I'll still give the album a few more
listens, but my first impression left me extremely
disappointed. Sigh.
