Saw Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at the Gothic in Denver last night, and
in a word, damn. I was sort of thinking that, given the richness of
their guitar sound, they might oughta bring an extra musician with them.
That was before I realized how incredible the bass player is - these
guys do more with three pieces than I would ever have expected.

Did I say damn? Yeah, this is a show you're going to want to go see,
although don't bother getting there in time for the opener. Stratford 4
has a LONG way to go....

...it's a lonesome thing to be passing small towns with the
lights shining sideways when the night is down, or going in
strange places with a dog nosing before you and a dog nosing
behind, or drawn to the cities where you'd hear a voice
kissing and talking deep love in every shadow of the ditch,
and you passing on with an empty, hungry stomach failing
from your heart.
