PURE POP FOR NOW PEOPLE: SONGS WITH MELODIES THAT POP
On Saturday, October 25th, Jeanne Stahlman & Edward Rogers present:
Pure Pop for Now People: Songs With Melodies That Pop at NYC's Bottom Line.
After The Beatles broke up in the early 70s, the world was left with a pop
music void needing to be filled. Happily, the 70's produced a number of pop
delights that sound as fresh today as the day they were recorded. "American
Girl," "Day After Day," "September Girls," "Surrender," and "Cruel To Be Kind"
are
just some of the songs which will be performed during a show that should not
be missed.
Join us on a musical journey of pure pop from The Beatles to The Flaming
Groovies to Cheap Trick, Big Star to The Raspberries and The Pretenders all the
way up to Teenage Fan Club and beyond.
Remember the 12-string guitars and 4-part harmonies that kept you humming
long after you heard them on the radio? Well, we do and on October 25th, we
will
share our own versions of these musical memories with you.
Artists such as Howie Statland, Ricky Byrd, Willie Nile, Jenni Mouldaur, Don
Fleming, Christine Ohlman, Edward Rogers, Tish & Snooky, George Usher, Kris
Woolsey, Joshua Tyler, Frank Bango, and more will be performing at two shows --
7:30 and 10:30.
A great band of musicians, led by musical director Andy Burton includes:
Dennis Diken (Smithereens), Sal Maida (Roxy Music, Sparks), Jon Spurney (Susan
McKeown) and Eric Nicolas (Phoebe Snow).
Come and help us celebrate great pop music and the 30 years of musical
treasures that The Bottom Line has given us. Show us your support.
