Awww, that 's not true about Rhino and WEA----they have an eminently
reasonable set up for straight reissues of releases they are not planning on
doing......actually, I am willing to look at the Blanket OF Secrecy album,
to tell you the truth. Can't find my LP to re-familiarize myself w/ the
material since it's been so long---any help out there? (since few retailers,
distributors, music fans care about new bands/artists anymore, reissues
appear to be the way Not Lame is being forced to start looking at more and
more to keep things going....not a bad thing, granted, just a sad thing)
Anyway, I must defend our boys at WEA/RHINO as they have one of *the* most
enlightened manners of working w/ reputable indies around! If did not have
to spend most of this year taking care of all the issues w/ keeping Not Lame
afloat in this shitty economy and lousy state of the industry, I'd be
getting going on a handful of projects w/ them.
Am planning on it, though.....i've met w/ the guys who run things there and
they are hugely passionate, knowledgeable and agreeable men. Class folks
there.
Now, unissued material? That's another story, at least last I knew of
earlier in t he year. Company policy does not allow the addition of Bsides
and unreleased trax to the licensed masters. This *is* something that will
hopefully change if only for the reason the market demands it, right now.
Peace Out,
Bruce @ Not Lame
