An example I always think of is the Best Kissers In The World's "Yellow
Brick Roadkill."  I've never actually heard it or even seen a copy of it,
but promos were sent out, even if the album itself never actually saw
official release.  In fact, I see there's a copy on ebay right now:

For awhile, I was wondering if the Gladhands' "Wow and Flutter" would suffer
the same fate, but at least that finally scored Japanese release...
