John Bonham (the greatest drummer ever) was well known to just bash
4/4 to Page's & Jones' quirky riffs. Kashmir comes to mind. Black Dog
has some nutty stuff and one can hear the reverberated ends of
Bonham's click counts in the rests. The razor cuts didn't quite get
'em all. Nowadays ProTools would have zapped those clicks right out.
Four Sticks and The Ocean also have odd measures but never is the
groove sacrificed.
