Auditeers are absolutely not intent on squelching any kind of meaningful
discourse on music, but we are a group of considerate people who do not
cotton to being mocked or condesended. If people like you would (or would
have, in Eb's case) simply, courteously state your views without coming off
as glib, arrogant, or sarcastic, I'm sure we could have a very healthy,
enriching exchange of ideas, even if those ideas you presented were totally
contrary to what you perceive as the pervading "groupthink".

definitely perceive a pattern here.

The pattern is that most of the newcomers with dissenting ideas also seem to
have the persistent habit of discoursing on them with the kind of tone that
I described in the last paragraph. For example, when Arthur Bang innocently
asked how he could protect himself from someone who might try to steal his
song ideas, your response made him appear to be a dimwitted, naive peon who
needs to get a life. Had you merely stated that an unknown songwriter need
not be concerned with these issues because the likelihood that a potential
thief would even his music is very small, rather than call him a "pustule"
and reduce his songwriting to something less than insignificance on the
value scale, it would have gotten the point across just as effectively, but
without the perceived ill will.

I've noticed that so many people who fancy themselves as dissenters and
revel in stirring up the calm waters tend to also equate being nice with
being weak, and find courtesy and cordiality akin to having leprosy. I
guarantee you that if you wrap your contrary views in a cloak of kindness
and respect, nobody's nose will be bent out of joint. If you find this
notion to be repulsive then your revelation that you've come to regret being
a member of this list is probably well-founded.
