Hello,
Over on the Silver Sun board, the topic is bands that compare to Silver
Sun. If any of the following unheard (to my ears) bands are worthy of the
comparison, please let me know. They are:
1. No Use For A Name (punk rock with vocal harmonies)
2. Easyworld (altogether brilliant indie-rock band)
3. Mo-ho-bish-o-pi (Welsh indie band, now split, released one fantastic
album)
4. Imperial Drag - Track down a copy of their 1996 debut of the same name.
5. 3 Colors Red - Another good band that have a Wildhearts link.
6. The Samurai Seven - probably the closest of any of the bands here to the
Silver Sun sound. I can recommend their album 'Le Sport' to anyone.
7. SugarPlumFairies/ The Celebrity Squares - the same band, who released the
album 'Fruit Karma' under the first name and will release a new album under
the new name early next year.
8. Midtown - great harmonies, fists in the air rock style stuff. get 'living
well is the best revenge' not the first album 'save the world lose the girl'
cos its better produced. it s in my top five behind silver sun and london
calling
9. Young Fresh Fellows
10. Feeder's first 2 albums "Polythene" and "Yesterday Went Too Soon".
As a HUGE Silver Sun fan, I am hoping that some of these leads will give
me the rush of that band.
Mike
