Ditto for me - I was seduced by the knowledge of drummer Nick D'Virgilio's
work with Kevin Gilbert, and then his recent turn in the drum throne for the
Rubinoos. After hearing "Snow," I've since picked up "V" and "Feel
Euphoria." "Feel Euphoria" is the latest, and the first without front man
Neal Morse (the member who also did Transatlantic, and I've been listening
to them as well). It's a bit different, but they did a fine job considering
that Neal wrote and sang the majority of their previous material. And I
gotta agree, they have the goods in melody and songwriting. Each Spock's
album has one vocal harmony extravaganza a la Gentle Giant (madrigal-type
arrangements) that are simply mind blowing, and they are able to pull them
off live, as the DVD "Don't Try This At Home" proves on the song
"Gibberish." Color me impressed. Haven't gone so far as Dream Theatre
yet...still preferring The Firesign Theatre.
