This was one of the more moving experiences of my lifetime. I wouldn't have even known about this performance if it wasn't for the list. I don't usually watch late night TV. Strangely Paul Simon is responsible for another of my moving TV music moments, when he played Johnny Ace on Saturday Night Live, a performance only about 50 light years beyond the terrible recorded version.

They blew me away. And to start by performing America, instead of the boxer or one of their other more major radio hits, was very breathtaking as well. This is perhaps the most perfect pop song ever to come out of the United States. Great lyrics which convey a time of life so perfectly, with a melody so pure and beautiful. Paul's voice was a little more shaky than even 10 years ago, but when Art sang alone briefly, every hair stood up on my entire body and I got a chill from head to toe.

I've been sorely let down by going to see performances of dinosaur acts in the past, hoping to catch at least one live glimpse of a hero before they hung up their microphone. The Stones, McCartney, Floyd, Kinks, Crosby Stills and Nash, The Who,Steely Dan (the list actually goes on and on) and at the risk of offending, all sucked and I felt like I'd been duped out of my money by the shell of an artist I'd once loved. Well, if this performance was any indication, I will once again put my heart on my sleeve, cough up the big bucks, and get my ass out to an arena to see Simon and Garfunkel. F*$^ING INCREDIBLE!

Frank.
