The September 2003 Fufkin.com page is up. This month we have the following
record reviews:

Mike Bennett presents full length reviews of the newest releases from Chris
von Sneidern, Pansy Division, British Sea Power, Maple Mars, The Trolleyvox
and Poor Luther’s Bones. Mike also has capsule reviews of The Deanna
Varagona Trio, Toothpaste 2000, Asteroid No. 4, Freddy and the Four Gone
Conclusions, The Pulltops, Crash Into June, Danny McDonald, Big Kid, The
High Dials, James Kirk, The Fugs and Kraftwerk.

Gary Glauber reviews the latest from Marshall Crenshaw, Lynchpin, The Sleepy
Jackson and True Love.

Michael Lynch reviews a new EP from New York City garage band The
Contrarians, while Kurt Sampsel reviews a reissue from The Cryan’ Shames.

Ben Collins reviews the latest from Exploding Hearts, Junior Senior, The
Flops and Quasi.

Robert Pally has reviews of new discs from Lisa Germano and Bruce Cockburn.

If you don’t get to see Bob Dylan’s new movie Masked And Anonymous, or even
if you do, check out Gary Pig Gold’s piece on Dylan, circa 1966 – it makes
more sense and doesn’t cost nine bucks.

Kurt Hernon is the life of every Fufkin party. In this month’s column, in
addition to talking about Joe Henry (who counts Madonna among his in-laws,
and thus, probably knows a thing or two about parties) and his new release,
before turning his attention to partymeister Andrew W.K.’s just released
second disc.

Mike Bennett’s column details his trip to New York City, where he saw Sparks
and Les Paul, but, as the accompanying picture shows, did not pick up on the
Big Apple’s edgy fashion vibe.

Eric Sorensen has another installment of his Further Observations of a
Jangly Music Fan, covering music from Badger, The Soul Engine, The Winnerys,
Jeffrey Foskett, The Indicators and more. Eric also takes you through some
of the great jangle moments of the ‘60s.

Kevin Mathews kept his stereo busy in the past month and gives his take on
compilations from Bongo Beat, Zip, Johann’s Face and Barsuk, along with
releases from Carolyn Mark, Sixteen Horsepower, Neil Young and Crazy Horse,
Joe Mannix, The Rubinoos, Flashcubes, Big Kid, Flux A.D. and more!!!

Finally, David Fufkin puts in his two cents about print magazines that write
about rock and are worth your time. As you can imagine, it’s not an
incredibly long list, but that’s why it’s worth looking at, as these ‘zines
need your support.

We thank everyone for the feedback on the new design. If you haven’t seen
it, come check it out.
