Did Marshall Crenshaw's book only cover music in films...or did it also cover band appearances on TV shows...
On another note...isn't it absolutely incredible given Dick Clarks rabid need to memorialize himself, that he neglected to save any tapes of most Bandstand show from the 60's and 70's?

I hear you, David. That was a great episode! About 5 years ago we played a show in which band performances were broken up by episodes of '60s TV shows featuring bands. I remember the Munsters episode with the Standells (? - or one of those garage bands) preceded our set. (BTW, the guy who shows such rock rarities (and rare movies, cartoons, etc, in general) is here in Philadelphia and may even be a lurker on this list - check for the Secret Cinema website for upcoming events.)
