Still....the RIAA are NOT representation of the artists in these 
claims...only that the artists, songwriters, etc. are victims who need to be 
compensated. The RIAA works for the record labels, who in turn, are 
responsible for the collection and disemination of the royalties to the 
"victims". So, if the RIAA collects the fines and hands it over to anyone, 
it will be the labels. The artists no doubt have a huge battle ahead in 
attempting to get back their share of that money (if they're even entitled 
to any.....is there an artist out there with piracy protection clauses in 
their deals?). Just look at the recent CDR use tax....anybody get 
compensated for this that we know of?

Not defending the RIAA, just trying to follow the logic of this stupid 
battle.
