I just saw the episode of I Dream Of Jeannie with Boyce & Hart and Phil
Spector. Great stuff! Colgems and A&M were all over it!

Highlights:

1. Amanda Bellows flipping through a bunch of her records, one of which was
a Monkees album...yeah, like she'd have one of those!

2. A copy of "The Monkees Headquarters" on the wall of the "record store" (I
think it was a mono copy, too!)

3. A copy of the "David Jones" album on Colpix on the wall of Spector's
office

4. Boyce & Hart doing "Girl, I'm Out To Get You" as an audition for Major
Nelson, and "Out & About" as an audition for Spector. When asked if he
liked it, Spector exclaimed "Like it?? How does '#1 Record' sound?"...for
the record, "Out & About" only made it to #39 on Billboard (wink).

5. Jeannie playing a mean set of drums...and cello!

Of course, there was that great '60s TV yin and yang of Jeannie being into
rock 'n roll, and Nelson not really caring for it...kind of like Len
"Hippies Are Cool" Nimoy and Bill "Hippies Are Creeps" Shatner (16 Magazine
Readers will know what I'm talking about here!

Thank you for allowing me to share my remarkably ill geekiness with you!

Pop Rules!!!!!
Take Care,
David (who's still angry at losing the out of print Japanese CD of Boyce &
Hart's "Test Patterns" on eBay! Grrrr!!)
