In forty plus years of being a published songwriter I have never known of or
experienced another writer stealing a song.
Songwriters put a lot of work into what they do...the thought of stealing
another person's work would rarely, if ever, occur to them.
How many times has that actually happened? Not many...it's usually news when
it does, and hardly anyone suing ever wins the court case.
People that worry about being "ripped off", are either not songwriters, or
have thought of stealing someone else's work themselves...otherwise, why
would they even think that someone else would do it to them?
