Is it possible to copy anything from a DVD? i think not, seems i've heard
that it is not possible. But there are a lot of tech savvy folks here (i'm
definitely not one of them!)

And before anyone jumps all over me for trying to make an illegal copy of a
DVD, let me explain that I rented the Badfinger documentary DVD, and i would
like to copy about one half of a minute of footage of Tom Evans (the bass
player) playing one of their songs -- so i can send it to a bass playing
friend of mine who might be interested in seeing the finger positions of the
notes. you know how sometimes you can only "feel" a bass part, rather than
hear all the individual notes, due to the low and sometimes unclear sound of
a bass and/or the way the instrument is mixed?

anyway, the only thing i can think to do is set up my camcorder and film my
TV for this 1/2 minute piece. how klunky.

By the way, the Badfinger documentary was interesting. What great
musicians and songwriters. (Well, at least most of the time, I'm not that
big a fan of their "boogie" rock material...) And how sad and stupid that
1/2 of them did away with themselves. This is the story of what NOT to do,
when entering business deals.
