I got to spend a couple hours chatting with Slim Dunlap a few years ago - I
asked him if he would mind re-telling a few legendary Replacements stories
or was he sick of it. He enthusiastically gave me a first hand account of
some legendary antics - lots of fun for me and he seemed to be enjoying it.
I mentioned that Westerberg has a reputation for being unapproachable and he
stuck up for him a bit then told me a story of a guy approaching Paul in a
restaurant, saying he liked his stuff and asking "If you tell me what you
are drinking, I'd like to buy you another one" - Paul threw the drink at him
and said "What does it taste like?"
Not an argument either way, just an excuse to tell my fav 'meeting a hero'
story.
