The early unreleased demo "Oh Tonight" bears no music resemblance to the
Raspberries hit "Tonight" (from their Side 3 album). Reading the liner notes in
the official unreleased CD; Eric said; "Oh Tonight and Please let me Come Back
Home" didn't make it on any record because we felt they were too
derivative...it's a lot easier to hear them now; 30 years after the Beatles....Distance
makes things a lot more charming sometimes."
All four demos were recorded in 1971 before the band had a major record
contract. They were cut at Agency Recording Studios which was above the famed Agora
Ballroom in Cleveland. The songs are: "I saw the Light" (demo that was
re-recorded for the 1st lp), "Please let me come back Home" (demo-unreleased), "Oh
Tonight" (demo unreleased) and Come around and see Me" (demo that was
re-recorded for the 1st lp).
