I'll be damned, Brian; between you, the Trash Can Sinatras list
(specifically, Eric Fate), and the Audities list (thanks to Stewart Mason),
the mystery has been solved.
The song is called "Cash Money." It was originally recorded by a group
called the Fantastic Four...though this Four wasn't bombarded by cosmic rays
(that we know of)...in 1977 on an album called "Got To Have Your Love."
Here are the lyrics:
>Who's makin all the money
>cash, cash, cash money
>Who's makin all the money
>cash, cash, cash money
>Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, Dollar bills,
>Hundred Dollar Bills
>Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, Dollar bills,
>Hundred Dollar Bills
>Who's makin all the money
>cash, cash, cash money
>Who's makin all the money
>cash, cash, cash money
Sound familiar...?
It was later recorded by Prince Charles and the City Beat Band...who,
logically, we can presume opened for Duran Duran at Hampton Coliseum in
1984, given Brian's memory of their name. They also fit Chris's memory that
they may have been an all-black group.
Almost 20 years later, an unsolved mystery is solved at last. Thanks for
everyone's assistance...
