I say AMEN to Dave's statement. I'm very sorry to say that a lot of
powerpoppers today are just copycats, whereas FOW really write songs.
It's one thing to be influenced by Beatles, Big Star and Beach Boys,
Byrds, Kinks etcetera but unfortunately its just stops there for a
whole lot of bands. Your Mileage May Vary of course. All this makes
it especially sad and ironic that FOW were dropped from ATLANTIC
after the approx. 200.000 units sold of Utopia Parkway. This from a
label that in the seventies had Mo Ostin etcetera. Please, more
songwriting and less copying!
