Following the Duran Duran question, did anyone attend Depeche Mode's
Madison Square Garden show in 1987? I've visited NYC twice that year,
early in the year and then in December. I can't remember exactly which
of those times I saw DM. They had a very melodic synth pop band opening
for them, whose main song seemed to be one with a chorus that went
something like 'we are the beautiful' or 'we are the people' (or
something close). They had a produced stage set, with extras dressed
either of secretaries, or like businessmen in suits and the such. I
asked to several persons near me at the show, and nobody knew who this
band was (and, btw, they didn't even bother). I liked their set a lot,
much more than DM's. A couple of friends here in Brazil told me that
Nitzer Ebb was the opening band on that tour, but I knew their music,
and it just didn't seem to be them at all. Anyone well informed about
that?

Rafael.
