MANY thanks to whoever mentioned this movie the other day. Went to see
it tonight, and while the film itself wasn't what I'd call Oscar-level,
Don Dixon was simply a revelation in the role of washed-up musical
writer Bert Hanley. He was especially compelling in the bitter drunk
scenes - I'm still giggling over his "what planet are you people from"
speech....

Go see it. Seriously. Any movie that has Don Dixon, "Praying Mantis,"
and this many killer musical numbers is worth the money.

You may have success in life, but then just think of it -
what kind of life was it? What good was it - you've
never done the thing you wanted to do in all your life.
I always tell my students, go where your body and
soul want to go. When you have the feeling, then stay
with it, and don't let anyone throw you off.

                         - Joseph Campbell
