His main reason for quitting the Searchers was he wanted to do more R&B
oriented materal while the rest of the group wanted to stick with Pop. Plus
all
the worldwide touring the group did wore him out physically and was taking
tranquilizers and pain pills to keep up. When the group dumped his pillbag
during a Australian tour (as a "favor") he decided to quit the group after the
tour. After he left the Searchers Curtis cut just one single - "Agrravation"
which was a hard R&B single for Pye. Wasnt a hit. Tried to start a "heavy
group" but didnt work out and he left the music industry in 1969 to work for
the Inland Revenue.

Just found a couple of websites:
http://www.spencerleigh.demon.co.uk/ccurtis.htm
with an interview (that I stole many parts for my explanation!) and:
http://www.brunnet.net/rickresource/searchers/chriscurtis2003.html oooh he's a
old "geezer" now...
