Here's a twofer contribution:

I don't recall the band being discussed that included Roger Bechirian, but better than the Monkees album he produced were the first 3 albums by The Undertones and The dBs' "Judy" single. He also engineered all the great Nick Lowe productions of that era. Maybe this has all been mentioned, but I have always been a fan of the mysterious Mr. Bechirian.

As for Back to the Egg...I think the Japanese pot bust was just an excuse for locking McCartney up for this release....Oh, it's no better or worse than 75% of his solo releases!
