As do *I*. "Getting Closer", "Arrow Through Me"....geez, even "Baby's
Request" was one of the last 'period' songs McCartney ever recorded. But, I
have heard so many fans diss this sucker and yet, it has the variety and
charm that I found so appealing about "Venus & Mars"....which, next to
"London Town" is my favourite Wings record.

Mike Patton was/is truly psychotic and his lyrics to songs like Zombie
Eaters were toned down not by the band's label Slash, but by execs at Warner
Music....the tune started life as "Baby Eaters"...and you can hear Patton's
twisted "what if" scenerio in the watered down version. He changed 'em back
when they performed live.

I actually agree....but there are so many non-pop moments on this record
that it doesn't seem to truly qualify as part of its overall tone. I mean,
these guys were channelling Black Sabbath, rap and funk all the same time on
many tunes...something the Chili Peppers only alluded to. It may have also
been the reason they never gained a larger acceptance. That and Mike Patton
throwing up on people everytime he was in a publicity place.

Chuck Moseley was neat.....even crazier than Patton. "We Care A Lot" was a
fave college song in its day.

So true...."Woodpeckers From Mars" is a cool instrumental...but really just
filler....and the record was strong enough without the homage "Warpigs" -- a
note-for-note remake that did nothing but prove that the band were a good
study. These tracks should have been saved for the truly inspired 'outtakes'
disc "Songs To Make Love To" [featuring The Commodores' "Easy", the theme to
"Midnight Cowboy", and a polka-inspired remake of The Dead Kennedy's "Let's
Lynch The Landlord").
