I ran into Don in June at Mitch & Shalini's wedding party in Chapel
Hill. I've known him for years and yet he had never met my wife. He
totally was charming and even kissed her hand. He is a giant hambone
(in a good way) and acting is probably natural to him. Very few
people know this outside of NC, but Don has been a longtime member of
this folk trio called Kingfish: The Blues Are Runnin'. The rarely do
anything these days, but their ouvre is songs about drinking beer and
fishing on the coast of North Carolina. They have special they did
for UNC-TV/PBS back in the '90's and it's surprisingly entertaining.
Cheezy, but charming. he produced a huge amount of regional beach
music records in the late '70's.
I got your dosh and will print the VIP tickets up next week.
