I'm a bit of a capricious fellow, so let me just say that as of this very second ( as Bill Lloyd might say) my resaerch indicates the best of the following catagories is:

Single: "The Trains" by the Black Diamonds aka the Nashville Ramblers.  Hear it on Bomp's Roots of Power Pop comp.

Non record-geek single:"No Matter What" by Badfinger

Non-single song: "Blue Summer"-Cherry Twister

Vinyl Album-Green-green

CD only album:  At Home With Cherry Twister
