When my wife asked me to define Power Pop, I declined, opting instead to
make her a mix CD for her car that would define it for her. I did it in
chronological order. The first two songs on it are "The Kids Are Alright"
and "Ticket to Ride."
(No Beach Boys; she gets enough of that in the house. But if I did, I would
probably have included their "Girl Don't Tell Me", which was brilliantly
covered by Ken Sharp on Happy Accidents, an indisputable power pop album.)
