Not being a quintessential power pop fan, I will say that I've always thought of The Beatles' "You Won't See Me" as the "first draft" of power pop; The Raspberries' "Go All the Way" as THE quintessential power pop song; and the dBs' "Big Brown Eyes" as the most efficient, lean, and lovely power pop song. Sadly, I don't know if there's a "pure" power pop album (ie, using Badfinger and the Raspberries as my idea of "pure power pop") that I could say I love from start to finish. I'm sure few are considering the dBs' Repercussions along these lines.

Jim
