Derivative is fine, humor is great, but I definitely appreciate something
fresh as well...I just find Stacy's Mom particularly derivative and not
offering anything fresh whatsoever to be excited about..I understand this
entire list thinks otherwise. Cool with that. To me, bands like Rooney, OK
Go (both recently mentioned) and yes even FOW at most times, are noteworthy
because, while derivative, they offer a fresh take on pop. For all the Cars
talk, 'Stacy's Mom" as a single just doesn't come close.

By the way, surprised no one has mentioned the "I love Ric" license plate on
Stacy's Mom's car in the video or the prepubescent Cars impersonators
(especially good is the young Mr. Ocasek ...even with a trademark sunglasses
adjustment) waiting alongside Stacy's boy as Rachel Hunter "the MILF" drives
up.

for something outside the pop box that has Ric Ocasek's name on it, try
Black 47's Fire of Freedom, esp. if you have Irish or NYC in your blood.

Ric joining Neglektra was, what, 5 months ago...does anyone know if he's
signed/developing anyone yet?
