I've never heard the Dillard and Clark album, but my wife is a huge
Dillards fan and has turned me on to their stuff, which veered from
straight-ahead traditional bluegrass at the start of their career (which
included several appearances on the Andy Griffith Show, interestingly) to a
pair of absolutely amazing country-rock albums in the late '60s,
COPPERFIELDS and WHEATSTRAW SUITE. I would put both of those albums,
especially WHEATSTRAW SUITE, against any other country-rock of the era,
including Mike Nesmith and the first Burritos album.
