~~~so, i was riding the el today, listening to the new
FOW (again!), and contemplating the influences thread.
darn if y'all weren't right. and i don't even LIKE
steely dan! i knew that valley winter was for sure a
s&g song, but i didn't know that hey julie was until i
listened to it. and of course, stacy's mom.
although, i always go right back to buddy holly for
the stutter stuff.
sometimes, it's the sound of stuff that hits me way
long before the lyrics do....all of a sudden, i found
myself melancholy and lost in all kinds of time, stuck
inside the mind of a young football player, reviewing
all your thoughtful takes on the song.
loving this album more and more every day,
