There's a CBS compilation called THE ALL-TIME GREATEST HITS OF ROY ORBISON
that was originally compiled in 1976 and is still the disc to get if you're
just going to get one.  It's the one with the white cover with his
signature slanting across the front.

Beware of the one on Virgin called THE VERY BEST OF ROY ORBISON: it's all
re-recordings of the classic-era stuff.
