song stuck in your head and can't get rid of it, the optimal solution is to
sing the theme from "The Greatest American Hero," and that'll clear your
head...but what happens if the song in question IS the theme from "The
Greatest American Hero"? I made the mistake of introducing the G.A.H.
Theory to some friends of mine on Sunday night, and, four days later,
one of them cannot get the theme out of her head...and I feel responsible.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...as long as it doesn't result
in her getting an even worse song stuck in her head. If that happens, I
will direct her straight back to you...:-)>>>>
Since I was the one who posted the GAH fix originally, I called my source (who shall remain nameless). He'd never heard of the reverse phenomenon happening, so he suggested that she sing a different song to herself over an over until the GAH theme departs. When I further suggested that would land her in the same place she began, he callously replied "Well, isn't life cruel?", cackled a manic evil-musician sort of laugh and hung up on me. My suggestion would be to tell your friend to find a song that is rather complex in nature and try singing it over and over -- perhaps one of those long, baroque pieces by the Zombies or the Beach Boys or ELO or something. Her mind might simply get bored by it and move on to other things...
