What other Sparks lps would you recommend and why?

I'm coming into this thread a little late, but I would agree that other than
the 80's version of Sparks---which to my mind is more poppy new wave (and
sounds...ummm...a little dated)---there really aren't any other albums other
than "Kimono" and "Propaganda" that could be classified as glam rock.
Sparks just changes much too often to be classified as having any one style.

However, if you are looking to broaden your Sparks catalog and you have an
adventurous mind, I would recommend the 2 CD anthology, "Profile" on Rhino.
It covers everything from the first Halfnelson/Sparks debut up to 1988's
Interior Design. In addition, if you don't know much about the rest of
their long career other than the British glam rock phase, Profile will give
you a great introduction to the "hits" from each of the other phases. They
may not be glam rock, but they sure are hook filled!

1994's "Gratuitous Sex and Senseless Violins" came out after the "Profile"
anthology, and while the focus of this album is on dance beats, the melodies
are some of the catchiest of their career. "When Do I Get To Sing My Way",
the hit single from this album, is one of their best songs ever! I highly
recommend it.

Mark
