Fountains of Wayne...playfully derivative??? For shame!:)
"Stacy's Mom" always reminds me of "Jessie's Girl", which therefore makes it grate on my nerves like few songs since the early days of MTV. Shame on them!
All around, I'd agree that FOW have a lot in common with The Cars (dating back to "Sink to the Bottom"), but unlike The Cars, they lack that band's subtly "artistic" edge. I wish FOW would push it a bit. They've got the goods.
