I gotta chime in about the new sloan!
I'm really digging it. This from a guy who hates AC/DC with a passion. Well
unless I want to laugh at their old stuff.

What it isn't: It isn't a varied, inspiring album like Navy Blues. It also
isn't polished and... well boring like much of Pretty Together. If you dig
jokes about coke fizz and Money City Maniacs, here's a whole album of it.

It's still sloan, it's still excellent. It's a fun rock record. Seems like
they were in the mood to just rock out for a record. There's some more
subtle moments. I'm just glad the production has been backed off a bit, the
doubled and tripled vocals are back, the "lo fi" sound has returned to beef
up all the (yes) Angus Young riffs. It's a lot of fun.

It's like somebody made a compilation of Sloan... like the Queen Rocks CD.
Only this is all-new material.
It's a rock record. Not powerpop. I'm digging it much the same as I dug the
Imperial Drag album and the Shazam's "big dumb rock record" "Tomorrow The
World". It might not change your life but it's a nice "back to school"
record.
