I was just looking at amazon and Collectables has a 2- CD set called "50
Greatest Hits Of All Time". This has 47 Mountment tracks and 3 early tracks
from his days at Sun records.
I have that same CBS compilation (All Time Greatest Hits) Stewart has. Did CBS
tamper with the original recordings (remixes? remakes?)? The sound quality is
good but because its a reissue of a LP from the 1970's it doesnt have any
liner
notes or producer/chart information. CBS needs to put together a more
comprehensive Roy box set or a better 2-CD compilation that digs into the
catalog. Like so many USA artists from the 60's you'll have to buy imports
for
LP tracks and rarities, and watch out for the remakes.
BTW "Pretty Woman" was the #1 song played on Oldies radio last year, according
to Mediabase.
