I just saw him last week at the Hard Rock Cafe in Salt Lake City.
Great seats - only maybe 50 people there! The little blurb you read is true-
they play all those songs - and nothing that Pete wouldn't have played on,
keeping authentic to the times.
Pete is nothing of a showman. And I mean NOTHING. I'm not sure he
even smiled when the band introduced him. He just hid behind the drums the
whole time, while his son played along on drums, with him, to his side. Kinda
almost weird. Maybe he's been on the road too long, but then, hey, THAT's
showmanship, idn't it?. Seriously probably one of the deadest performers I have
seen recently.
Now that's a statement Not designed to scare anybody from the show.
Nor is it to say that Pete isn't a very nice dude when you meet him after the
show - He's a very nice guy - go get his autograph for sure. He Will be
available after the show. The band, however, is all crazed liverpudlians that wanna
have a great time and proceed to do so. The music and instruments are
authentic, and they wear teddy-boy leather jackets and the whole bit. One can
almost smell "Mathew Street" coming off them. It's a good show overall, and any
self-respecting Beatle fan should go. If you didn't know it was Pete Best on
drums (and how often do you really notice the drummer anyhow?), and you just
stumbled into the bar, you'd think, "Jeez, these guys are great! They got that
early Merseybeat sound DOWN!" . So, GO!!!

p.s. I got a bonus at my show - Graham Russell of Air Supply was there too.
Great guy. Supernice. Got his autograph too. And got him signed up to give
a lecture at the college where I just got hired.
