Man, it's a damned shame if this record does kinda fall short of
expectations or even just out-and-out sucks. A couple years back they
came thru Chapel Hill and my buddy Steve who makes boutique guitar
amps and I went to the soundcheck to give 'em the dog & pony show.

The Trick guys weren't there but the road manager and their crew were
super cool. They were going straight from that gig to Florida to demo
some new material and the road manager said they had like over a
hundred new songs written and they were all killer. So what happened?
I can't fathom that these are the best songs.

A band as "long in the tooth" can't afford to take 6 and a half years
between records and still hope to rekindle interest in the band.
They've been cruising as a State Fair, Rib Cook Off and corporate
function band for the years between CT97 and now. In a way, they are
more pathetic than Kiss as far as being road whores. No one expects
Kiss to be anything other than a nostalgia act. CT is, at least, in my
opinion, a hell of a lot more than Kiss and the other icky 70's bands
still out there milking the last scraps of their fanbase on
embarrassing package tours.

I'm a sap. I'll buy it for the xtra DVD. Maybe that's the whole
selling point.

Mike
